People Killed by Islamic State
by Country Since 29 Jun. 2014
Map

This map shows the 28 countries where people have been killed in attacks by the Islamic State since its announcement of a Caliphate on 29 Jun. 2014. More than 17,942 people were killed in 24 months. It covers all attacks tracked in the IntelCenter Database (ICD) as of 3 Jul. 2016. The darker the red, the greater the number killed. You can hover the mouse over each country to see the exact numbers.

Methodology Note:
All attacks attributed to IS were counted on the map including both directed, affiliated and inspired attacks. Attacks by all officially named IS Wilayats have been included. While IntelCenter makes every attempt to identify all incidents, the nature of reporting makes that nearly impossible. These numbers should be viewed as minimums with the total number likely higher where it could be expected to be so. This is most applicable to Syria, Iraq and Libya. The original source data for all incidents shown here is located in the Incident Component.

Additional reporting and original source materials are contained in the IntelCenter Database (ICD). Sign up for a free 10-day trial of the ICD and see additional details by clicking here.
