Most Common Days for
Islamic State (IS) Attacks in West
29 Jun. 2014 - 11 Jun. 2017

Saturday and Monday are the most commons days for Islamic State (IS) inspired, supported and directed attacks in the West since IS announced the Caliphate on 29 Jun. 2014 as of 11 Jun. 2017. These two days account for 43% (23) of the 54 attacks that occurred during this period. Monday accounted for the highest number of attacks at 22% (12) and Saturday was close behind at 21% (11).

Sunday and Tuesday accounted for the least amount of attacks with both coming in at 9% (5). Wednesday, Thursday and Friday tied at 13% (7) of attacks.

Methodology Note:
All attacks associated with IS were counted, including both directed, supported and inspired attacks. Inspired, supported and directed attacks tied to al-Qaeda or other jihadi groups were not counted.
