The following chart shows terrorist and rebel worldwide incidents by Primary Target Sector tracked by IntelCenter in the IntelCenter Database (ICD) Incident Component for Jul. to 20 Nov. 2014 as of 20 Nov. 2014.

During the period there were 4,908 terrorist and rebel incidents worldwide. The Primary Target Sector with the highest number of incidents was Military & Police at 47% (2,331). Unknown was the second highest at 17% (840) with City/Town/Village coming in third at 8% (399). Rebel Group came in fourth at 7% (349). It represents when rebel groups attack other rebel groups. Government came in fifth at 4% (179).

While IntelCenter makes every attempt to identify all incidents, the nature of reporting makes that nearly impossible. These numbers should be viewed as minimums with the total number likely higher where it could be expected to be so.
